Blog comments on steroids

How many blog comments can you make for 1,000 bucks?

A competition is going on at www.seanrasmussen.com to see who can make the most blog comments in the month of March 2010.

And it’s friggin blog comments on steroids. Or amphetamines. Whatever it is, it’s gotta be illegal with the rate the competitors are going.

The competition started on March, 5 but includes blog comments made from March, 1. The Top 20 commenting visitors are listed on the home page. The front runner is a speed blog commentator from Australia.

In fact, the top 3 are all Down Under.

In the lead, Ms Jazz “The Human Dynamo” Salinger, has made a staggering 421 blog comments (at the time of writing). Renee “Porsche” German born Aussie is on 378. And, well, it’s no secret, I’m third on 362.

So, between us, that’s 1,161 blog comments in 18 days (as of today).

That’s no mean feat, considering there are rules to comply with and, with thousands of blog comments, the site is getting slower to load. And, yes, the comments online do have to actually be relevant AND value-adding.

Gee, it’s gett’n hot.

Or, should I say, Gee, he’s gett’n hot!

With blog posts, and excuses to reply, running out for those 3 hot ladies, the competition was opened up to another blog created by the same site owner, Sean Rasmussen. The number of blog comments made on the two sites are combined for the final score.

That’s when Gee “Bull at the Gate” New Zealander declared the “bring it on” war. With The Human Dynamo clearly in his sights, he has exploded to the top of the board on www.seanseo.com with a humanly impossible 532 blog comments (at the time of writing) in just under a week.

Blog comments: The current tally

As I write, the combined scores are as follows (NB: scores change by the hour):

1st – Jazz, The Human Dynamo (869)

2nd -Gee, Bull at The Gate (783)

3rd – Renee, The Porsche (523)

4th – Lina, Too Good for A Nick (487)

Lessons to learn from making blog comments

Are we really doing this for 1,000 bucks?

At the beginning, the cold hard cash got people moving. Now, it’s different for everyone, I’m sure. I won’t surmise people’s reasons. But, judging by the fiery competition, and the content of the blog comments, it’s not about the money.

Aussie Internet Marketer, Sean Rasmussen, must be amazed by what he’s created. A lot of buzz, activity and, of course, SEO benefits. There’s a grander scheme to all this, no doubt.

Now, it’s not too late to give the Top 3 a run for their money. The first leg ends on March, 31 but there’s a grand prize when it’s all over on June, 30. It’s still a game involving stamina and persistence. And nutbag-ness.

It’s not too late to stir up trouble.

Get out there and stir it up. It’s a lot of fun. And if you’re an internet marketer, you’ll discover the real reasons people are in it. In Napoleon Hill style, I won’t tell you what that is. You just got to be in it, to win it. The prizes and everything else.

What’s more, there’s no way thousands of comments could be made without there being something to talk about. There’s top-notch, world-class content on there.

For me, well, I’m getting more out of it than I could have bargained for. I’ll share that with you when it’s all done and dusted… And I win the cash and prizes… (Yes, Top 3, I know you’re reading this :) ).

Acknowledgments to: Samantha Banfield, Jill Brown, Lisa Wood, Sarah Butland, Jo Carey-Bradshaw and Wal Heinrich who are in the Top 10, as well as everyone in the Top 20 who are putting in a huge effort. We’re all helping each other. Your sterling spirit is to be commended.

Besides, it’s good to know there are other internet addicts out there on roids and or speed. Shit, I hope there’s no dope testing.

What’s your view about the blog comments competition? Who’s your money on? Are you in it? Why? Why not?

    heh heh heh, Lina.

Glad to see you took time off to post this, from your breath-taking speed. The quality of the comments is amazing – let alone the content of the actual blog. This is all so much fun, I’m going to cut this short and get back to it. See you on the 1st April, for a decent chat!

Yes Lina, it is all go and the great thing is we are helping one another. No matter what the result is, Sean has surely got us into action. They say all you have to do is one thing consistently for 21 days and then it becomes habit.

    Hi Lina

Did you have to tell the whole world about? I’ve got enough competition with the dynamo without anymore. Well you did’t tell them why I am really in this?

Menkind’s honour is at stake here! Where were all the blokes? I dunno. It’s like their partners had walked around the corner while they were having a quiet one at the local when they should’ve of been at home. Gutless wonders!

Don’t tell anyone mine’s getting some R&R in NZ
which sort of gives me a bit of an advantage.

Anyway I reckon the dynamo’s got clones. Really? I should get the spoils for just being in it. Not easy touch typing. Man my fingers feel like they are going to fall off!

That’s enough of pratting on. Don’t want them getting the jump.

    Hi Richard, Sandra and Gee

Thanks for taking time from the heated competition to still comment on my blog! It’s so much fun. Look at Gee, he’s just lapping it up! Glad you obviously see the value in the blog comments competition, beyond just the cash and prizes.

    Hi Lina,

amazing that you find the time to write an article in between all the comments :)

I agree, there is much more to the competition to the cash – like the big prize Sean promised for June ;) .

Just kidding. Same as you I learn so much from reading the articles and giving my 5 cents worth in, it’s amazing. And even more amazing is to read all the other comments and what great people are out there.

It’s fun to be part of such a great group of people, learn something, promote my own stuff, have fun and possibly earn some money at the end of it :)

Ok, enough said, need to go back and write some more comments.

The Porsche (thanks for that btw ;) , I might by one soon)

Hi Cherie – No roids needed to have fun? Thank goodness for that! Glad to know I don’t have to look like the guy in the photo!

Hi Renee “The Porsche” – Well, looks like you’re having a lot of fun with all those smileys!!! I bet you won’t smiling when I kick your butt… (LOL! I so don’t talk like that, it’s so funny to write it! :) ) Glad you like “The Porsche”. Nice name for you!

Its amazing how many comments have been added Lina.

Your right, Jazz is a Dynamo. I had this vision of Jazz keeping his eyes open with toothpicks, commenting 24/7. He’s amazing

Oh, I didn’t realise you found that old picture of me in my old gym days. ;-)
